Gamaya
The "Gamaya" text is commonly known as the mantra, Asato Ma Sadmagaya. In Hinduism, a mantra is a sound, word, seed syllable, or prayer verse that is repeatedly chanted as a meditation or spiritual invocation. This Vedic mantra comes from one of the Upanishads, sacred Sanskrit books likely written between 500-200B.C. These books form the philosophical and theoretical basis of the Hindu religion. Can be sung by any combination of voices. Alto saxophone part included.
